Accelerometer
The Intelligent Edge Kilo (Kilo) has a built-in accelerometer that provides vibration/shock detection and orientation detection functions.
By default, it operates using the analysis algorithms included in obnizOS, and by updating the software, it can perform more detailed detection and advanced analysis.
👉 The accelerometer's algorithms can be switched or updated to suit your specific use case.
⚫︎ Vibration/Shock Detection
The accelerometer is used to detect vibration and shock applied to the device.
From this data, you can determine whether the device is moving or stationary, and detect unusual movements to identify anomalies.
Use Cases
- Determine the operating status of the device from vibration
- Detect the start and stop of movement based on changes in vibration, and use this for power saving
- Detect unusual vibration to help with the early detection of failures and anomalies
