LTE-M / NB-IoT
The Intelligent Edge Micro (Micro) provides cellular network connectivity supporting both LTE-M and NB-IoT.
This allows it to connect to the Internet from environments without Wi-Fi or Ethernet, or from moving objects.

The Micro's cellular network function is provided under a dedicated plan. The SIM / eSIM is configured at the factory, and your own SIM cannot be used.
LTE-M
LTE-M is an LPWA (Low Power Wide Area) method that leverages the existing LTE network. For domestic use, LTE-M is often chosen, while the availability of NB-IoT varies by carrier and region.
Features
- A type of cellular network with wide-area coverage (depending on carrier and region).
- Low power consumption.
- Tends to connect relatively easily even inside buildings or in remote areas.
- Low communication speed (rough guide: several hundred kbps).
Antenna Connection
Connect a compatible antenna to the SMA connector marked "LTE-M / NB-IoT" on the side of the Micro. Align the antenna straight and turn it by hand until it stops to secure it.
👉 No tools are required. Tightening it about as firmly as you would close a jam jar is sufficient (avoid overtightening).
Separately Sold LTE-M / NB-IoT Antennas Available for the Micro
An LTE-M / NB-IoT antenna is included with the Micro, but separately sold antennas can also be used depending on the environment. The following are representative examples that can be installed in Japan.

RP-SMA (reverse SMA) cannot be used. It looks similar, but its internal pin arrangement differs and is not compatible.

Checking the Communication Status
After power-on, if the LED is blinking twice per second, the LTE connection is in progress. If it stays continuously lit, communication has not been established. Check the antenna, the installation location, and any obstructions in the surroundings.
