Accelerometer
The Intelligent Edge Micro (Micro) has a built-in accelerometer that provides vibration/shock detection and orientation detection functions.
By default, it operates using the analysis algorithms included in obnizOS, and updating the software enables more detailed detection and advanced analysis.
👉 The accelerometer allows you to switch or update its algorithms to suit your use case.
⚫︎ Vibration/Shock Detection
The accelerometer is used to detect the vibration and shock applied to the device.
From this data, you can determine whether the device is moving or stopped, and detect unusual movements to find anomalies.
Example Use Cases
- Determine the operating status of the device from vibration
- Detect the start or stop of movement based on changes in vibration, and use this for power saving
- Detect vibration that differs from normal to help with the early discovery of faults or anomalies
